FLAMER HOSTS 700 STONERS FOR QUEER CHURCH ON 420

An iconic gathereing in Prospect Park to celebrate the sacred holiday

On Sunday 4/20, 700 stoners gathered in Prospect Park to celebrate the sacred holiday. As 4/20 fell on Easter Sunday this year queer cannabis brand FLAMER decided to have a little twist on their annual picnic. The theme was Queer church and everyone was asked to dress in their Sunday best. And of course the flamers turned out!

From flower studded hair and hats to gothic nuns and priests, FASHION was alive and well at the FLAMER 4/20 picnic. Whether it be lacey suit ensembles or hats made from barbie dolls, this event was more than just a stoner hangout, it was a full-blown runway of queer expression, where cannabis culture met high camp and holy slay.

Some iconic babes came through to the function like Willam, who’s known for her time on Drag Race Season 4, Qween Jean, a beloved activist and costume designer, Von, a queer music artist who specializes in freaking people out, and Vas, a model + content creator known in BK for their performances as Miss Daddi.

This picnic had everything and more. Picnic blankets scattered around the peninsula by the water at Prospect park. With activities everywhere you turned. For those who love to toke and make art, there was a crafting station complete with all the materials to decorate lighters and Select vapes + pens, make angel halos, collage, and more.

People were invited to join in a wellness silent disco by tapping into the picnic’s curated playlist, sound baths by Pammy, and a guided meditation by Solonje Burnett AKA Weed Auntie. SASS provided some delicious FLAMER-420-exclusive infused chocolate truffles for people to intentionally consume before the meditation. Between the warm sun, soft grass, and sweet treats – these mindful moments were much needed and truly unforgettable.

A nun walked around passing out red joinks to the people like little weed fairies. While the sun was beating down and people passed joinks around, we also had a hydration fairy bringing people shots of coconut water w/ CBD, by Brelixi. Fun fact: CBD can help balance you out if you’re feeling a little too high. While it doesn't lessen the effects of THC, it can provide a calming moment for your body. So FLAMER loves to have CBD specialists on deck. There also were some delicious bevs from Dirty Virgin that are non-alcoholic twists on some cocktail classics like the margarita.

To lean into the post-easter-sunday-picnic-of-it-all, there were some iconic field day games like sack races and egg + spoon relays. Imagine stoned queers dressed to the nines bouncing to the finish line in child-sized sacks—it was iconic. Pure inner child joy.

FLAMER also partnered with Black and Pink NYC on an educational card-making section where guests could make cards for incarcerated queer folx. From birthdays to special holidays, these folx need all the joy they can get, so FLAMER shared the love.

In true FLAMER fashion, the 4/20 picnic was more than just a celebration—it was a joyful, queer sanctuary where community, creativity, and cannabis came together in vibrant harmony. With fashion-forward flair, mindful moments, and playful nostalgia woven throughout the day, it was a beautiful reminder that queer joy is sacred, and gathering together in radical celebration can be both healing and electric. Whether you came for the truffles, the tunes, the tokes, or just to bask in chosen family vibes, this year’s 4/20 was a high holiday to remember.
